FAQ
Find answers to common questions about Six Points Legal Solutions, our services, fees, and the residential tenancy process in Saskatchewan
What services does Six Points Legal Solutions provide? Six Points Legal Solutions provides limited-scope legal services for residential tenancy matters in Saskatchewan, including consultations, document preparation, ORT applications and responses, hearing preparation, and representation before the Office of Residential Tenancies (ORT).
Can you help both landlords and tenants? Yes. Six Points Legal Solutions assists both landlords and tenants with residential tenancy matters. Services are provided independently and are subject to a conflict check before a matter is accepted.
Do I need a lawyer for a residential tenancy matter? Answer: No. Many residential tenancy matters in Saskatchewan can be handled without hiring a lawyer. Six Points Legal Solutions provides limited-scope legal services to help landlords and tenants understand the process, prepare documents and evidence, and, where appropriate, receive representation before the Office of Residential Tenancies (ORT).
What can I expect when working with Six Points Legal Solutions? This gives you room to explain limited-scope service, clear fees, communication, and that clients remain involved in decisions.
Can you represent me at an ORT hearing? Yes. Where the matter falls within the scope of services permitted under my Limited Licence issued by the Law Society of Saskatchewan, representation may be available for proceedings before the Office of Residential Tenancies (ORT). Representation is determined after an initial consultation and review of the matter.
What should I bring to my first consultation? Please bring any documents related to your matter, such as your tenancy agreement, notices, ORT documents, inspection reports, photographs, relevant emails or text messages, payment records, and a brief timeline of events. Don't worry if you don't have everything—we can identify what else may be needed during the consultation.
How much do your services cost? Fees depend on the type and complexity of the service required. Six Points Legal Solutions offers both flat-fee and hourly services. After an initial consultation, you will receive information about the anticipated scope of work and applicable fees before additional services are undertaken.
Do you offer consultations before I decide to proceed? Yes. An initial consultation provides an opportunity to discuss your situation, review the issues involved, and determine what services may be appropriate. A consultation does not obligate you to retain Six Points Legal Solutions for further services.
